🧄 3 cloves garlic, minced
🧅 1 small onion, sliced
🛢️ 1 tbsp vegetable oil
🌿 Sesame seeds & sliced spring onions (for garnish)
Method
Marinate the Beef
In a bowl, toss the sliced chuck steak with soy sauce, sesame oil, and cornstarch.
Let it sit for at least 15 minutes to tenderize and absorb flavour.
Make the Stir-Fry Sauce
In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and sriracha.
Mix cornstarch and water, then add it to the sauce for thickening.
Cook the Beef
Heat 1 tsp vegetable oil in a hot wok or pan over high heat.
Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned but not overcooked.
Remove and set aside.
Stir-Fry the Veggies
In the same pan, add 1 tbsp vegetable oil.
Toss in onion, garlic, carrots, bell pepper, and broccoli.
Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until crisp-tender.
Combine & Finish
Return the beef to the pan.
Pour in the stir-fry sauce and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring until the sauce thickens and coats everything.
Sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced spring onions for extra flavour
Serve & Enjoy!
🍚 Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
🥢 Pair with a side of kimchi or pickled vegetables for extra depth.
Pro Tips 💡
✔️ Thin Slices = Tender Beef – Always slice against the grain for the most tender bites.
✔️ No Oyster Sauce? Use extra soy sauce and a splash of Worcestershire sauce.
